Amanda Bossard was just out high school when she began her marine biology studies at Alaska PacificUniversity in Anchorage. Bossard launched her profession as a seafood commercial worker in the year 1999. She started working on the F/V Sunset which was a 65' halibut schooner which was converted into a salmon tender for Murat Aritan who had been working in commercial fishing since 1993. Bossard has been married to Aritan she has joined alliance to gain access to their industries. Both of them are favor of conserving resources and maximising profit. Otolith has opened its market direct wholesale distributorship in Philadelphia when Bossard was able to return from in her home town with two daughters, Bella 3 years old and Andre 1, to Philadelphia. In 2007, Bossard mother to two kids Bella, age 3, and Andre 1. She returned to Philadelphia after a trip from Canada, opened Otolith as a wholesale direct market seafood distributor. Bossard along with her two children Andre 10, and Isabella 12 return every year to Southeast Alaska as deckhands to harvest wild salmon during summer. In a small 42 salmon troller using hooks and lines to catch their targeted salmon, they join Aritan during two consecutive months selling to local processors and continuing to grow their direct market seafood products sold through Otolith Sustainable Seafood by way by purchasing custom processing services of small processors in order to produce unique wild seafood products that show their commitment to quality and the natural environment.
